The National Park Service is pleased to announce that two electric vehicle charging stations are now available for public use along the National Mall. The stations are located at Madison Drive across from the National Museum of American History, and on Jefferson Drive across from the National Air and Space Museum. The cost of the charging stations is $2.00 per hour.
“As the National Park Service prepares for its second century of service to the American people we are committed to providing clean and green energy to promote a healthy environment,” said National Mall and Memorial Parks Acting Superintendent Karen Cucurullo. “These charging stations contribute to our ongoing goal of energy conservation and efficiency on the National Mall.”
National Mall and Memorial Parks received a grant from the Clean Cities National Parks Initiative for the project. The Clean Cities Program funds and supports alternative fuels and vehicle replacement projects at national parks across the country.
